You will be working for a high-quality food manufacturer at their BRC Grade A production facility, supplying products to their customer base all over the UK.
The purpose of your role will be to develop new products and technologies that support key customer requirements and drive targeted business growth.
Key tasks:- Develop new food products from concept through to launch.
- Reformulate and improve existing products for quality, cost, allergens, or nutritional targets.
- Run kitchen trials, pilot plant trials, and support full factory scale-ups.
- Understand ingredient functionality, processing effects, stability, shelf-life, and product safety.
- Attend customer visits, product reviews, and site meetings to represent the NPD function professionally.
- Attend factory trials and first productions to ensure smooth product handover.
- The successful candidate shall have at least 5 years’ experience in a factory process or development role in a food manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of ingredient functionality and food processes, with experience in developing, testing, and evaluating new products.
- Knowledgeable in food safety standards and HACCP procedures.
- Happy in front of customers – comfortable explaining formulations, processes, and development decisions in a clear, engaging way.
The Senior NPD Technologist job is paying £33,000 - £36,000 according to your experience. The working hours are Monday to Thursday 8.00am - 16.30pm and Friday 07.30am - 15.00pm.
