This food manufacturer specialises in frozen world cuisine, combining a practical approach to product development with authentic recipes from around the world. Their chefs draw on real culinary traditions to create meals that are full of flavour and made to consistent, high-quality standards.
The purpose of your role will be to oversee all aspects of Quality, Compliance, Specifications, and New Product Development. Your leadership will be instrumental in maintaining our BRC AA* accreditation and upholding exceptional standards in food safety, legality, hygiene, and TACCP. You’ll ensure not just compliance, but continual improvement—exceeding customer expectations and regulatory requirements wherever possible.
Key tasks
- Lead and manage all Technical functions including food safety, quality assurance etc, to support business objectives and maintain third-party accreditations.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration with other teams whilst maintaining strong relationships with customers, suppliers, auditors, and regulatory authorities.
- Oversee all technical systems and standards, including HACCP, BRC, customer codes of practice etc.
- Conduct complaint analysis, and supplier due diligence, ensuring continuous improvement.
- Manage departmental operations and resources, including training, budgets and external contracts while promoting a culture of safety and compliance.
About You
- The successful candidate shall have at least 2 years’ experience of managing a Technical function including Quality, Specifications and NPD.
- A food science or related degree, or as an alternative HND/HNC.
- Advanced Food Safety and Food Hygiene Qualifications and lead assessor qualified.
The site is based in Manchester and is commutable from Stockport, Manchester, Macclesfield, Warrington, Eccles and surrounding towns.
The package includes 10% bonus (discretionary), 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays and birthday, 5% company pension and 4x salary life insurance.
The working hours are Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 4:00pm with some flexibility.
