You will be working for a well-established food manufacturing business with a strong history in the industry, they have built an excellent reputation for consistency, reliability, and quality. The purpose of your role will be to oversee all aspects of Quality, Compliance and Specifications. Your leadership will be instrumental in maintaining their BRC accreditation and upholding exceptional standards in food safety, legality and hygiene. You’ll ensure not just compliance, but continual improvement—exceeding customer expectations and regulatory requirements wherever possible.

Key tasks

  • Ensure compliance and audit readiness for BRC, Kosher, Halal and internal standards through audits, risk assessments, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage technical and food safety processes, including procedure development, non-compliance follow-up, supplier approvals, and NPD-related tasks like specifications and artwork.
  • Support and collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to enhance food safety, technical compliance, and supplier performance, including on-site visits and partnerships.
  • Oversee systems and reporting, including KPI tracking, internal audits etc.

About You

The successful candidate shall have a background in a similar technical role within food manufacturing. HACCP Level 3, Food Safety Level 3 and experience in leading BRC audits is essential.

The Technical Manager job (ref:9053) is paying £40,000 - £50,000 according to your experience. The site is based in Essex and is commutable from Harwich, Colchester, Wivenhoe and Manningtree. The working hours are office hours Monday to Friday.
