About the Assistant Product Technologist role
Reporting to the Senior Product Technologist, you’ll be joining an energetic, innovative, friendly food product development team which has some exciting projects underway. The role is responsible for ensuring that products are designed, developed, and manufactured to meet technical, quality, and regulatory standards.
Key tasks
- Product set up and data input into the company Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
- Maintain line sheets against the Retail Production Plan.
- Carry out daily visits to the factory and ensure finished products meet required standards
- Observe new production runs and take necessary actions if needed.
- Take part in product quality assessments to include finished products and raw materials.
- Support the entire development process, from launch to finished product stage, including troubleshooting product/process challenges during product development and post-launch.
About you
- The successful candidate should have at least two years’ experience in a similar role in the food manufacturing industry and ideally be degree-educated in a relevant subject.
- An organised individual within a fast-paced working environment and a keen eye for detail.
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and quick to learn.
- A high passion for food and flavours with an open approach to innovation, processes, and concepts.
- An honest and open person who is an excellent team player and an excellent communicator at all levels.
The Assistant Product Technologist job (ref: 9088) is paying £30,000 - £35,000 according to your experience.
The package includes 33 days of annual leave (including bank holidays), Christmas shutdown, and contribution to your pension at a rate of 5.5%. There are also other excellent benefits.

The working hours are Monday to Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm – early finishes if all work completed.
This is a contract maternity leave position starting in September 2026 and anticipated to last until January 2028, with the possibility that it could go permanent
The site is in Kent and is commutable from Orpington, Dartford, Tunbridge Wells, East Grinstead, Maidstone, Sevenoaks and surrounding areas.
