About the R&D Assistant job
The purpose of your role will be to provide support to the NPD Manager in delivering the company s product development. This exciting role involves all aspects of NPD from concept to launch of new innovations in addition to continuous improvement of the existing range.
Key tasks
- Conduct laboratory and factory trials for NPD, existing products, new ingredients, and packaging, and complete reports.
- Perform physical and chemical analyses (e.g., viscosity, pH, Brix) and sensory evaluations (e.g., heat shock, melting resistance, scoopability), generating reports.
- Maintain ingredient and product inventory, ensure proper labeling, and conduct benchmarking sessions to keep the NPD lab stocked.
- Oversee factory trials, attend first productions, hand over to Production and Technical teams, and complete all necessary paperwork.
About You
To be considered for the R&D Assistant role, you will possess a degree or equivalent in a food science related discipline and/or possess previous food technical, NPD, laboratory or similar experience from either a full-time role or university placement.
- You will have a good understanding of food safety, technical information and quality standards.
- Have excellent organisation and problem-solving skills.
- An excellent communicator at all levels.
- A personable candidate with the ability to build rapport and maintain positive working relationships.

The R&D Assistant job (ref:8714) is based in Hampshire (Winchester) and is paying up to £34,000 according to your experience. Due to the location of the site, it is important that you can drive and have your own transport.
The working hours are 8.00am-4.30pm with flexibility to attend production trials.
