About the R&D Technologist job
The purpose of your role will be to provide support to the NPD Manager in delivering the company’s product development. This exciting role involves all aspects of NPD from concept to launch of new innovations in addition to continuous improvement of the existing range.
Key tasks
Conduct laboratory trials for NPD, existing product development, new ingredients, and packaging and carry out factory trials of the same and complete supportive reports.
Carry out physical chemical analysis such as viscosity, pH, Brix among others, and complete sensory evaluations, heat shock, melting resistance, scoop ability and generate reports.
Maintain an inventory of ingredients and finished products in the lab and main freezer as well as shopping and conducting, benchmarking sessions, and collecting ingredients and packaging to ensure the NPD lab is well stocked, including ensuring that all ingredients are labelled with use-by dates.
Carrying out factory trials and attending all first productions of new products, ensuring handover to Production and Technical teams and the completion of all relevant paperwork.
About You
To be considered for the R&D Technologist role you will ideally possess a degree in a food science-related study, and at least two years of experience. Alternatively, an experienced NPD seeking a new challenge possibly within a laboratory environment and ideally within the food manufacturing industry. You will have a good understanding of food safety, technical information and quality standards.

The R&D Technologist job (ref:8834) and is paying to £36,000 according to your experience. Due to the location of the site, it is important that you can drive and have your own transport.
The site is in Winchester, Hampshire and is commutable from Southampton, Basingstoke, Salisbury, Newbury and Portsmouth.
The working hours are 8.00am-4.30pm with flexibility to attend production trials.
