About the Raw Materials Specification Technologist job

The purpose of your role will be to ensure all raw materials and packaging comply with legal and customer requirements. The role involves working closely with suppliers to ensure the company’s standards are met, maintaining accurate and up-to-date supplier information, and escalating any concerns to the Lead Raw Materials Technologist. You will also support the timely resolution of non-conformances to help maintain quality and compliance standards across the business.

Key tasks:

  • Manage and maintain accurate supplier, raw material, and packaging information and review documentation, complete traceability checks, whilst supporting teams with decisions about raw material use on site.
  • Support purchasing, technical, and product development teams by assessing alternative raw materials and providing information needed for customer and finished product specifications.
  • Work with suppliers to obtain and review specifications, ensure materials meet customer requirements, support audit readiness, investigate non-conformances, and help approve suppliers and raw materials through risk assessments.
  • Maintain health, safety, hygiene, and security standards in the workplace while reporting hazards, accidents, and near misses.

About You:

  • The successful candidate shall ideally have previous technical administration/raw materials and or supplier approval experience in a food manufacturing setting.
  • A food science degree may be considered advantageous.

The Raw Materials Specification Technologist job (ref:9056) is paying £34,000 according to your experience. This is a remote, home-based role with occasional visits to site located in Berkshire.
