The company is a UK-based food manufacturer with a wide range of ambient ingredients for retailers, wholesalers, manufacturers, and foodservice customers. They have built a reputation for quality, reliability, and innovation within their sector.

We are looking for a Quality Manager to lead all technical and quality activities across the site, ensuring products meet the highest standards of safety, legality, and quality. Reporting to the CEO, you will oversee day‑to‑day quality operations, support continuous improvement, maintain compliance with BRC and ISO22000 standards, and provide guidance to the technical team. This is a key role for someone with food industry experience who can drive operational excellence while representing the company both internally and externally.

Key tasks
  • Ensure all food safety standards and legal requirements are consistently met, with a strong focus on maintaining BRC and ISO accreditations.
  • Support the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Quality and Food Safety Management System to meet both internal and external expectations.
  • Assist in managing the internal audit schedule to ensure compliance across all areas whilst taking responsibility for maintaining accurate and up‑to‑date technical documentation, including internal records, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements.
  • Review non‑conformances and customer complaints in detail, ensuring root causes are identified and corrective actions are implemented.
  • Support ongoing improvements to prevent reoccurrence and maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Approve and audit suppliers to ensure they meet required quality and food safety standards whilst maintaining and regularly updating the approved supplier database, ensuring full compliance and traceability.
  • Work closely with the Technical Manager to lead, support, and develop the technical team by creating a positive working environment that encourages accountability, growth, and high performance.
  • Provide timely and practical advice to management on current and emerging risks.
  • Stay up to date with changes in food safety, hygiene, labelling, and health.
