The purpose of your role will be to provide robust quality assurance support for the company’s food safety and quality system to ensure all food products are safe, legal and comply with required standards.
Key tasks:
- Ensure that all products and packaging accepted into the company meet specification and legal requirements through checks and sampling.
- Raise non‑conformances and ensure resolutions are communicated to the relevant departments.
- Maintain QA systems to meet customer, legal and BRC requirements. This includes but is not limited to traceability checks, daily check sheets, calibration, lab sampling, internal audits, weekly and monthly site audits etc.
- Monitor the production area to confirm effective implementation of the quality system and company and customer policies.
About You:
The role would suit someone with experience in a food manufacturing environment, ideally in the QA/Technical department. Ideally educated to a degree level in food science, food technology or a related subject. Previous experience working with chilled, high‑risk food is an advantage. Qualifications such as Intermediate Food Hygiene, Basic Health and Safety Certificate, HACCP, Food Safety etc. would be a great benefit. Good communication skills and excellent attention to detail.
Location & Remuneration:
Base pay up to £28,000 according to your experience. The QA Technician job is based in North London and is commutable from Enfield, Ilford, Hackney, Waltham Cross and Potters Bar. The package includes 20 days holiday + bank holidays and pension. The working week is Monday to Friday, 5:00am to 2:00pm.
