The purpose of your role will be to lead and deliver a range of scientific and technical projects including training, consultancy, and research in order to provide high-quality, cost-effective solutions for both internal and external clients. You will also play a key role in developing new business opportunities within targeted areas, supporting the organisation’s strategic goals and long-term vision.
Key tasks
- Lead and support the planning, execution, and reporting of technical work across contract, training, and research projects. Manage your own workload to meet deadlines and deliver outputs in line with the business management system. This includes interpreting results, preparing client reports, and responding to technical enquiries with appropriate guidance.
- Deliver consultancy services, including site audits and pre-audits and present training as a lead or support on training courses, while also contributing to the design and development of training materials.
- Help grow the business by identifying new contract, training, and research opportunities, and by preparing high-quality project proposals.
About You
- The successful candidate shall hold a Degree in a relevant scientific subject or have relevant experience.
- Good technical knowledge of the food manufacturing industry across multiple sectors, with 3–5 years’ experience in a technical or quality role.
- Level 3 HACCP qualification, ‘Train the Trainer’ as well as food auditing experience.
- Strong communication skills for consultancy, training, and client support.
- Good project and time management skills as well as good Microsoft MS knowledge, particularly PowerPoint.
- Full UK/EU driving licence.
More details: The Food Safety & Quality Specialist job (ref:8992) is paying £35,000 to £42,000 according to your experience. The package includes 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, 10% employer pension contributions, holiday buy-scheme and retailer discounts. The working hours are Monday to Friday, standard office hours with travel when required. The site is in Gloucestershire and is commutable from Cheltenham, Gloucester, Worcester, Evesham, Banbury, Oxford and surrounding areas.
