We are looking for a confident and outgoing food graduate to join a well-established progressive manufacturer. As a leading ambient product manufacturer, the business has seen substantial growth over the past decade, supplying major clients across the UK food retail, wholesale, and foodservice sectors.

As a Development Technologist, you will consistently ensure the effectiveness of factory processes aligns with business needs, consistently meeting, improving, and exceeding customer expectations.

Key tasks:

  • Manage approved concepts to factory launch, coordinating trials, feasibility checks, and process documentation. Ensure product data (e.g. reheat, quality standards) is captured and systems are updated.
  • Support continuous improvement by trialling new materials, equipment, and processes. Contribute to product quality upgrades, HACCP systems, and maintain process documentation.
  • Help develop early-stage samples, check nutritional values, complete NPD paperwork, and assist co-pack projects. Apply functional ingredients and support development kitchen tasks.
  • Work closely with teams, customers, and management. Represent the company professionally, support strong communication, and uphold company ethics and standards.

About You:

  • The successful candidate shall possess a minimum HNC/HND in Food Science or Technology with strong numerical and analytical ability teamed with good planning and coordinating skills.
  • One years’ experience is required, this could be a placement.
  • You must also have a valid driver's license and your own transportation.

The NPD and Development Technologist job (ref:9077) is paying £28,000. The site is near Ashford and is commutable from Maidstone, Headcorn, Sittingbourne, Tunbridge Wells, Paddock Wood and surrounding towns. The working hours are Monday to Friday, standard office hours.
