About the Assistant Production Manager role:

  • Responsible for leading the nightshift operation across five production lines, overseeing a team of around 60 staff including Line Leaders, Packers, FLT Drivers, and Production & Warehouse Operatives.
  • Ensure the production plan is delivered efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards.

Key tasks:

  • Manage the full nightshift production operation.
  • Lead and support Line Leaders and wider production teams.
  • Ensure production lines run efficiently without compromising quality.
  • Oversee training, performance, and discipline of night staff.
  • Liaise with Quality, Load Control, and Dispatch teams.
  • Monitor product quality, crate counts, and post-production activities.
  • Prepare daily paperwork and support continuous improvement.
  • Carry out weekly production meetings with Line Leaders.

About you:

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in food manufacturing.
  • 1–2 years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Hands-on, organised, and methodical.
  • Passionate about quality and continuous improvement.

The Assistant Production Manager – Nightshift job is paying £50,000 per annum. The package includes 30 days (including bank holidays). Around 4–5 days are allocated during the Christmas closure. There is a company pension scheme in line with auto-enrolment regulations and free onsite parking which includes electric vehicle (EV) charging. The site is in Croydon, Greater London and is commutable from areas of South London, Kent and Surrey. The working hours are Sunday to Wednesday, 10pm to 8am.
