About the Key Account Manager job

The purpose of your role will be to grow the company’s customer base and strengthen existing client relationships.

You'll be responsible for developing new business opportunities, managing a portfolio of key accounts, and driving sales performance within your assigned market sector, helping to achieve the company's growth objectives.

  • Drive profitable sales growth by managing a portfolio of key accounts, delivering agreed revenue and margin targets, and identifying opportunities to expand existing customer relationships and secure new business.
  • Develop and implement strategic account plans, building long-term partnerships through regular customer engagement, including onsite meetings.

Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver an outstanding customer experience and ensure customer needs are met effectively.

  • Maintain accurate customer records and sales activity within the CRM system, ensuring compliance with company policies, contractual obligations, pricing governance, and relevant data protection requirements.

Monitor account performance, prepare regular progress reports, and proactively identify and escalate risks where required.

  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer insights to identify growth opportunities, support product positioning, and contribute to continuous improvement of sales processes and ways of working.
  • Represent the business professionally by participating in sales meetings, pipeline reviews, and customer strategy sessions, while promoting the company's values through a commitment to collaboration, sustainability, diversity and inclusion, and employee wellbeing.

About You

  • The successful candidate shall have experience within a commercial role in FMCG or food manufacturing.
  • Professional certifications such as Key Account Management, Negotiation Skills or Sales leaderships (or similar relevance) is required.

The Key Account Manager job (ref:9085) is paying up to £56,000 according to your experience plus £5,000 car allowance.

This is a homebased role however applicants should be located in the North West of England, ideally within commutable distance to Manchester/Greater Manchester.

The package includes 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, Pension, Investment in People and Training, Referral Programme for successful employee referrals, Wellbeing and Engagement Programmes, Onsite Mental Health First Aiders, Employee Assistance Programme for yourself, your partner and any children in full-time education up to the age of 21, this includes counselling, Onsite Car Parking, Company Sickness Pay, Seasonal Flu Vouchers.

The working hours are Monday to Friday standard Office Hours.
