About the Supply Chain Manager job

The purpose of your role will be to oversee the company’s stock operations from Europe into the UK, manage key supplier and customer relationships, and ensure the smooth, compliant import and movement of goods.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end stock control, including forecasting, ordering, stock life management and system reconciliation.
  • Oversee imports from Europe to the UK, ensuring accurate documentation, customs compliance and smooth movement of goods.
  • Manage warehouses, hauliers and third-party providers, including load planning, delivery routes, pricing negotiations and service performance.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customer supply chain queries, managing expectations and resolving delivery issues or shortages.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, coordinating shipments, resolving supply issues and supporting product launches and changes.
  • Ensure full import compliance, keeping procedures up to date with legislation and ensuring teams are trained and audit-ready.
  • Review monthly P&L and transport budgets, monitoring costs, disposals and performance against budget.
  • Support wider teams with traceability, costings, food safety governance (HACCP/TACCP/VACCP) and sample coordination.

About You

The successful candidate shall have a strong background in supply chain, logistics or import/export management within the food industry, with excellent communication skills and customer-facing experience. Candidates must be happy to travel into Europe when required.

The Supply Chain Manager pays a salary of £55,000 to £63,000. Hybrid working is offered post probation as well as 25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, rising by one extra day per year after five years’ service (up to 30 days), along with your birthday off each year. Additional benefits include a 4% company contributory pension, an annual discretionary bonus linked to overall company performance. The offices are based in Devon and are commutable from Exeter, Honiton, Tiverton, Crediton, Newton Abbot, Exmouth, Torquay and surrounding areas. The working hours are Monday to Friday, standard office hours.
