This job is working for a very well-established and respected manufacturer that supplies to UK retailers and foodservice markets, as well as further food manufacturing. The purpose of the role is to showcase company products and their application in recipes, to demonstrate value to customers and to support business development.
Key tasks:
- Create NPD ingredient-based recipes as well as translate them into tasty food.
- Presenting created products, dishes, and ingredients to customers in an engaging, knowledgeable, and friendly manner.
- Work closely with both the NPD Team and Sales Team.
- Write basic specifications including ingredient declaration, allergens etc.
- Record information on NPD systems.
- Manage and calculate ingredient costings and final recipe build costs from a raw material cost perspective.
About You
You will be an experienced NPD Chef or Innovation Chef with a background working in food manufacturing. You will ideally be classically trained or perhaps you have a food related degree, together with excellent knowledge of culinary and customer trends. This role would suit someone looking for a new challenge and to be able to use your culinary ability to innovate with new ingredients and flavours to create exciting dishes to showcase to clients. You will also be IT literate and have good organisation skills in order to accurately record recipe information. A UK valid driving licence is essential.
More details: The Development Chef job is based in Kent and is paying up to £55,000 according to your experience plus mileage with all travel and accommodation expenses. The role will also require travel to another of the company sites (1-2 times per month) to meet colleagues and customers. The role comes with a great benefits package which includes profit sharing, a generous company pension contribution, life insurance, health care benefits and 33 days holiday per annum (including Bank Holidays). The site is in Kent and is commutable from Sevenoaks, Maidstone, Tunbridge Wells, Orpington, Croydon, Reigate and Aylesford. The working hours are Monday to Friday, with hybrid working 2 days per week work from home.
