This is a successful family-owned food manufacturing organisation which has grown rapidly and aspires to accelerate this growth over the coming years. Currently a single-site operation, there are plans to move to multi-site to manage the increasing demand.

This exciting new role brings with it the opportunity to work closely with the CEO and members of the senior team to develop and drive the people strategy to ensure success of the organisation with the growth plans in place.

About the job

This newly created role was historically managed across members of the senior team and have been largely reactive. You will therefore need to develop and implement the people strategy to set the business up for success for the foreseeable future to include employer brand, employee lifecycle, HR/legal compliance, ER, compensation and reward, internal communications, development & performance and personnel sponsorship.

  • Internal Communications - ensure channels of communication are maximised to drive and embed the values and performance of the organisation.
  • Ensuring compliance with UK employment law, particularly in a manufacturing environment.
  • Recruitment and Retention - employee lifecycle, to include recruitment, selection onboarding and retention/succession planning.
  • Performance and Development – developing and implementing performance appraisals to identify training needs and programmes to help with productivity.
  • Employee relations – handling grievances, disciplinary procedures.
  • Welfare & Health & Safety – working across department to ensure high standards of welfare and safety.
  • HR Strategy and Administration – supporting the senior team and their specific function, managing HR budget, creating and maintaining accurate HR data, GDPR and reports.
  • Payroll & Compensation – working closely with the finance team to develop and manage the benefits and compensation cycle.

About You

  • You must be fluent in Gujarati and / or Hindi and possess CIPD minimum level 5 and experience in a manufacturing or similar operational environment essential.
  • Ability to work with people at all levels.
  • Working knowledge of UK employment law.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience with HR Information Systems (HRIS).

The HR Manager’s job (ref:9064) is paying £45,000 - £50,000 according to your experience. This is Monday to Friday office-based role but with an element of being hybrid. The site is in Leicester and is commutable from Wigston, Loughborough, Coalville, Market Harborough and surrounding areas.
