This company works on behalf of a number of carefully selected manufacturing partners, specialising in chilled and frozen categories for the retail, foodservice and manufacturing sectors. Representing their partners in the UK market and operating as a dedicated UK office to provide the support, resources and knowledge required to establish and build long term successful business.

The purpose of your role will be to drive growth by managing and developing key customer accounts while identifying and securing new business opportunities across a diverse range of categories. Working closely with manufacturing partners and customers, you will build strong relationships, deliver commercial success, and support the achievement of strategic growth objectives.

Key tasks:

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of key retail accounts, including major multiples and discounters, delivering sales growth and profitability.
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities through new listings and strategic customer development.
  • Lead commercial negotiations, pricing reviews, tender submissions and joint business planning activities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and manufacturing partners, ensuring excellent service and long-term growth.
  • Work closely with manufacturing partners to coordinate forecasting, stock planning, logistics and promotional activity, supporting all new product development projects from concept through to successful launch.
  • Deliver accurate forecasting, budgeting and sales reporting, providing insight into performance, risks and opportunities whilst monitoring market trends and customer performance to support informed commercial decision-making and achievement of business objectives.

About You:

The successful candidate shall have proven experience as a commercial manager or similar role within FMCG retail with a strong track record of managing and growing chilled and/or frozen good categories. Excellent commercial acumen and proven ability to influence at senior levels. Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills. Highly self-motivated, with the ability to operate across several different categories. Ideally, you will have an established network within retail accounts and an understanding of category trends within frozen and chilled foods.

The Commercial Manager job (ref:9067) is based in Stoke and is paying £60,000 - £65,000 according to your experience. The working hours are Monday to Friday. This is an office-based role with a hybrid element. The site is in Stoke and is commutable from Stafford, Nantwich, Burton upon Trent, Derby, Macclesfield, Northwich and surrounding areas. The package includes a Car Allowance and Performance Related Bonus.
