The purpose of your role will be to lead and manage all quality, technical and food safety activities within a modern food manufacturing environment, ensuring products consistently meet customer, regulatory and internal standards.
Key tasks- Take ownership of the site's Quality Management System, ensuring it is effectively maintained and continuously improved to meet customer, regulatory and business requirements.
- As the HACCP Team Leader, you will drive food safety standards across the operation, ensuring full compliance with BRCGS requirements, UK food legislation and industry best practice.
- Lead all quality assurance and quality control activities, maintaining robust documentation, traceability systems and risk assessments, and ensuring the highest standards of hygiene and GMP is achieved.
- You will be responsible for planning, conducting and hosting internal, customer and third-party audits, ensuring the site always remains audit-ready.
- Lead investigations into non-conformances, customer complaints and food safety incidents, implementing effective corrective and preventative actions to minimise risk and drive continuous improvement.
- Work closely with production and operational teams, and identify opportunities to enhance quality performance, product integrity and operational efficiency.
- Provide training, coaching and technical guidance to site teams, promoting a strong quality and food safety culture throughout the business.
- Support supplier quality management activities, ensuring raw materials and suppliers meet required specifications and standards.
The successful candidate will have proven experience in a technical, quality or food safety role within a food manufacturing environment, ideally at supervisory or management level. You will hold a Level 4 HACCP qualification and possess a strong understanding of food safety management systems, HACCP principles and industry standards, with experience of BRCGS and retailer requirements being highly desirable.
The role requires a candidate with a proven track record of successfully managing internal, customer and third-party audits, along with the ability to maintain compliance and drive continuous improvement across a manufacturing operation.
