The purpose of your role will be to support food product development by combining creative NPD with technical knowledge. You’ll work in a fast-paced environment, helping develop new flavours, formats, and product ideas while growing your skills within the business.
Responsibilities- Help create new food products as well as improving existing ones from ideas to final launch, including recipes, trials in the factory, and ensuring products work at scale.
- Write and keep up to date all product specifications, technical documents, and compliance paperwork so everything is accurate and organised.
- Ensure products and packaging meet UK and international food laws including labelling and ingredients; be involved with BRC audits.
- Work closely with suppliers, procurement, quality, and commercial teams to source the right ingredients.
- Run taste panels and benchmarking, liaise with customers and retailers with technical queries, and ensure products always meet the highest quality standards.
- The successful candidate should have at least 3 years of NPD experience within food, supported with a degree in food science or related field.
- A strong innovation background supported with technical and project management skills is required.
- HACCP qualification and experience with BRC or other audits, food labelling legislation would be advantageous.
- A driving license is essential for this role.
The Food Innovation Technologist job (ref:9009) is paying £45,000 according to your experience. The package includes 25 days annual leave plus.
