Assistant Technical Manager

You will be working for a well-established and highly respected manufacturer of high-quality, speciality products.

About the Assistant Technical Manager job

Reporting to the Technical Manager, the purpose of your role will be to ensure all technical issues are dealt with effectively and efficiently, ensure that all procedures are adhered to by employees and champion product safety, legality, and quality systems. You will deputise for the Technical Manager in their absence.

Key tasks

  • Ensure company, customer, and legislative standards are met through HACCP, GMP, Quality Management Systems, and continual improvement processes.
  • Support audit preparation (BRC, Organic, Customer etc), maintain full product traceability, and manage production paperwork and compliance records.
  • Oversee internal testing (shelf life, weight etc), run taste panels and quality checks, and implement corrective actions to improve product quality and reduce complaints.
  • Assist the Technical Manager across daily tasks, support NPD trials/product launches, liaise with contractors, and promote health, safety, and hygiene standards on site.

About You

The successful candidate shall have experience within a similar Technical role in the food manufacturing industry.

BRC experience is required and Health and Safety training would be advantageous.

The Assistant Technical Manager job (ref:8944) is paying £40,000 – £45,000 according to your experience.

The working hours are usual office hours.
