B3 is seeking a skilled and experienced mobile HGV Technician to help them grow their family run business. The ideal candidate will possess excellent mechanical knowledge and be proficient in various HGV repair and maintenance tasks. This role is crucial in ensuring the safety and efficiency of fleet vehicles contributing to the overall success of the company. Whilst the company is based in Aylesbury, B3 operates across a wide geographical area.
Duties
- Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on HGVs, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Diagnose faults using appropriate diagnostic equipment and techniques.
- MOT preparation and PMIs on site when required.
- Assemble, fabricate, and maintain vehicle components as required.
- Perform electrical repairs, including wiring tasks.
- Utilise hand tools, power tools, and equipment repair techniques to complete tasks safely yet efficiently.
- Maintain records of work completed, outstanding and the parts used, ensuring these are completed accurately and available promptly.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Contribute to the provision of a 24-hour breakdown service.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an HGV Technician or in a related role.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- HGV Licence (ideal).
- IRTEC Truck & Trailer qualification.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot and repair various vehicle systems.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to fabricate components as needed for repairs or modifications if applicable.
- Ability to use diagnostics equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to learn and ability to ask for assistance/advice when needed.
Additional Details
- Job Type: Full-time.
- 40 Hours per week (excluding optional overtime).
- Working pattern: Monday - Saturday (Saturday will be required). There will be some flexibility over the hours worked in the week.
- Benefits: Company van (strictly business use only). As this is a mobile role, the B3 van will be the employee's responsibility. It is expected that the successful candidate will treat the vehicle as they would their own. The van is to be kept overnight at the employee's home address.
