Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance on both small and larger plant equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and engine faults efficiently.
- Attend customer breakdowns and minimise equipment downtime.
- Complete safety inspections and ensure machinery complies with relevant legislation and company standards.
- Accurately complete job sheets, inspection reports and service records using electronic systems.
- Maintain a clean, organised and fully stocked service vehicle.
- Identify additional repair requirements and report them to the Service Controller.
- Work closely with the service office to plan daily workloads and respond to emergency call-outs when required.
- Promote a professional image of B&T Plant Hire Limited at all times.
Key Skills and Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Plant Maintenance or Land-Based Engineering (or equivalent).
- Proven experience servicing and repairing construction or plant machinery.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic, mechanical, diesel engine and electrical systems.
- Ability to diagnose faults using manufacturer diagnostic equipment.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
