We're B.I. (Europe) Limited — a UK food manufacturer with over 40 years of heritage, BRC Higher Level certification, and around 100 people on site. We make ambient-stable sauces and condiments under the Harrisons Sauces brand, supplying UK foodservice, retail, and transport catering — with active growth into the UAE. Quality is our number one strategic priority. And right now, we need a senior technical leader to own it.
THE ROLE
This is a 6-month interim Technical Manager position — site-based in Loughborough, reporting to our Factory Operations Manager with a direct line to the CEO. There's a genuine path to permanent for the right person. We're not looking for someone to keep the seat warm. We need someone who can walk in on day one, assess where we are, identify the gaps, and fix them — leaving behind better systems and a stronger team than they found.
WHAT YOU'LL OWN
- BRC Higher Level audit readiness — at all times, not just in the run-up
- Full quality systems gap analysis with a prioritised action plan
- All customer and third-party technical audits — pass rates, not near misses
- Customer complaint reduction through rigorous root cause analysis and CAPA
- QA/Technical team development and day-to-day leadership
- A thorough handover pack for whatever comes next
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 5+ years as a Technical or Senior QA Manager in food manufacturing
- Proven BRC Higher Level / Grade A audit leadership
- HACCP Level 4 and Lead Auditor qualified
- Strong team management and customer-facing audit experience
- Ambient, sauces, or liquid food background preferred
- Available to start quickly and hit the ground running
WHAT'S ON OFFER
- Competitive day rate or FTC salary — negotiable based on experience
- Direct access to senior leadership — your recommendations will land
- Monday to Friday, 40 hours (flexibility during audits)
- Free on-site parking, pension, 32 days holiday pro-rata
- Real scope to shape the technical function long-term
If you're an experienced interim Technical Manager who thrives in fast-paced, audit-led environments and wants a role where your impact will be visible and valued — we'd like to hear from you.
