This is a full-time, on-site Project Estimator role based in Gorebridge. The Project Estimator will prepare accurate cost estimates for roofing and building projects by reviewing drawings, specifications, and site information. Daily responsibilities include:
- Analyzing labor, materials, and subcontractor costs;
- Preparing quotations and tender submissions;
- Updating estimates as project requirements change;
- Collaborating closely with project managers, site supervisors, and suppliers to clarify scope, track variations, and support budgeting and scheduling decisions;
- Assisting with cost tracking during project execution;
- Helping identify cost-saving opportunities;
- Maintaining detailed documentation to support reporting and client communication.
Qualifications
- Strong construction estimating and project estimation skills, with experience preparing detailed cost breakdowns and tenders.
- Cost management and budgeting skills, including the ability to track costs, forecast expenditures, and support profitable project delivery.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with project teams, suppliers, and clients, and to present estimates clearly in writing and verbally.
- Familiarity with construction methods, materials, and trades, preferably within roofing and general building.
- Proficiency with estimating software, spreadsheets, and other digital tools used for quantity take-offs and cost analysis.
- Strong numerical, analytical, and organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy under deadlines.
- Relevant experience in construction or a related field; a technical or construction-related qualification or apprenticeship is an advantage.
- Ability to work on-site in Gorebridge, manage multiple estimates simultaneously, and adapt to changing project requirements.
