Harness is the AI Software Delivery Platform company, led by technologist and entrepreneur Jyoti Bansal. Harness has raised approximately $570M in funding and is valued at $5.5B, backed by leading investors including Goldman Sachs, Menlo Ventures, IVP, Unusual Ventures, Citi Ventures, and more. As AI accelerates code creation, the real bottleneck has shifted to everything after the code – testing, deployments, application security, reliability, compliance, and cost optimization. Harness brings AI and automation to this “outer loop,” helping teams ship software faster while maintaining security and governance throughout the entire software delivery lifecycle.
Powered by Harness AI and the Software Delivery Knowledge Graph, the Harness Platform applies deep context and intelligent automation across the software delivery lifecycle with governance and policy‑driven controls embedded throughout the platform. Over the past year, Harness powered over 185M deployments, 82M builds, 18T flag evaluations, 8M security scans, 9.1B optimized tests, 3T protected API calls, and helped manage $2.8B in cloud spend — enabling customers like United Airlines, Morningstar, and Choice Hotels to accelerate releases by up to 75%, reduce cloud costs by up to 60%, and achieve 10x DevOps efficiency.
With a global team across 26 offices and 25 countries, Harness is shaping the future of AI software delivery — and we’re looking for exceptional talent to help us move even faster.
Position Summary
The Sales Engineering Manager sits at the intersection of sales and engineering, leading a team of world‑class SEs while remaining hands‑on when the moment calls for it. The ideal candidate articulates technology and product positioning at executive, business, and technical levels — and is equally comfortable rolling up their sleeves to debug an integration or deliver a demo. This leader drives the technical evaluation stage of the sales process, ensures customer success across all Harness engagements, and partners closely with sales to steer customers toward a commercial relationship.
About The Role
- Lead, recruit, and grow a high‑performing Sales Engineering team with a servant leadership mindset.
- Drive strategic projects that scale across the region.
- Deliver and coach world‑class platform presentations and demos that tell a compelling value story, where required.

- Drive complex technical engagements including POCs, workshops, and RFI/RFP responses.
- Articulate technology value propositions at the executive, business, and technical levels.
- Convey customer requirements and feedback clearly to Engineering teams.
- Represent Harness at field events, conferences, and seminars as a credible technical voice.
About You

- 4+ years of hands‑on DevOps/Dev sales engineering experience.
- Prior background as a developer or in a deeply developer‑centric DevOps role.
- Strong cloud and infrastructure knowledge — hands‑on experience with tools like Terraform.
- Low ego: comfortable getting hands‑on as a people leader, and would return to an IC role at the right company.
- Strong public speaking skills — you have presented at conferences and are a confident, polished presenter.
- Self‑motivated, resilient, and naturally inclined to solve problems without being asked.
- Works effectively as part of a team, partnering with Sales leadership, Post Sales and other functions to drive business outcomes.
- Able to travel extensively throughout a sales territory, occasionally on short notice.
- Resides within 2 hours of a Harness hiring hub; comfortable with significant travel and weekly in‑office presence.
