Your Role
We are seeking an experienced Head of Financial Accounts to provide strategic leadership across the UK finance function at B. Braun. This is a critical role with responsibility for financial accounting, investment management, tax, statutory audit, and cash flow management, including oversight of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable teams. Working closely with the Head of Controlling, you will take joint ownership of end-to-end financial processes, ensuring a cohesive, consistent, and high-performing Finance function. You will play a key role in strengthening internal controls, driving process improvements, and ensuring robust compliance across both Finance and the wider business. As a people manager, you’ll play an essential part in shaping a positive, inclusive, and development-focused culture across the site. You’ll lead by example – playing a crucial role in creating a positive and productive work environment.
Location
Location: Thorncliffe Park, Sheffield. Hybrid: Office and home working. A minimum of 3 days a week working in our Head Office, Sheffield, S35 2PW. Employees are able to utilize our office facilities more should they wish to. We offer free onsite parking.
Contract
Contract: Fixed term for 12 months to cover maternity leave. 37.5 hours per week, Monday–Friday.
Your Main Responsibilities
- Lead the Financial Accounting function across the UK, including GL, AP, AR, cash flow, and investment management
- Develop and align team priorities, driving a high-performing and consistent function
- Ensure strong financial control, balance sheet integrity, and accurate statutory reporting
- Oversee tax (VAT & Corporation Tax) and lead external audit delivery
- Own UK cash flow and working capital, driving performance against key KPIs
- Manage intercompany funding, dividends, and HMRC obligations
- Partner with the Head of Controlling and Finance Director to support business performance
- Support finance transformation, including systems and shared services initiatives
- Lead UK investment processes and secure approval for growth initiatives
What you need to succeed
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA)
- Strong statutory audit experience and technical accounting expertise
- Deep understanding of financial controls and governance frameworks
- Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams, driving engagement and accountability
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across functions and at senior levels
- Experience working within complex, multi-entity or international environments
- Confident communicator, able to present financial information clearly to a range of stakeholders
- Proactive, self-motivated, and able to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment
