Your Role
We’re looking for a proactive and highly skilled Financial Accountant to play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls and effective compliance across the UK companies of B. Braun. This is a varied and influential role that will see you working across VAT, tax, audit, statutory accounts, and process improvement - making you a key contributor to the integrity and efficiency of our finance operations. If you enjoy problem‑solving, improving processes, and collaborating with teams from across the business, this is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to financial governance within a large, established organisation.

Location: Thorncliffe Park, Sheffield. Hybrid: Office and home working. A minimum of 3 days a week working in our Head Office, Sheffield, S35 2PW. Employees are able to utilise our office facilities more should they wish to. We offer free onsite parking.
Contract: Permanent, 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday.

Your Main Responsibilities

  • Lead VAT processes across the UK Group, including quarterly submissions and stakeholder queries.
  • Manage IFRS15 leasing arrangements with Finance Business Partners.
  • Maintain and improve balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger processes.
  • Support compliance areas including Corporation Tax, PAYE, Pillar Two and SAO requirements.

Audit & Statutory Reporting

  • Coordinate external audits and support internal audit activities.
  • Assist with statutory accounts and related reporting.
  • Work with the UK Group Financial Accountant on key deliverables, including pension schemes and company secretarial tasks.

Process Improvement & Business Projects

  • Review internal controls and recommend best‑practice improvements.
  • Support projects such as:
  • SAP system migrations
  • Transitions to global shared services
  • New IFRS standards
  • VAT group structure reviews
  • Finance compliance for new initiatives
  • Compliance reviews or investigations

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Act as a liaison between Finance and teams including Pricing & Tenders, Legal, Payroll, Service Improvement & Data Management, Procurement, HMRC and external advisors.

What you need to succeed

  • ACCA or ACA qualification.
  • Experience in statutory audit.
  • Significant experience in financial processes, controls, VAT and Corporation Tax.
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels.
  • Ability to lead cross‑functional teams and partner across departments.
