We are looking for a proactive and detail‑oriented Occupational Health (OH) Specialist to join our Health & Safety function on a permanent basis in Sheffield. In this key coordination role, you will support the delivery of occupational health programmes across the business, helping to ensure our employees receive the right health surveillance, wellbeing support and workplace adjustments to enable them to thrive.

Working hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday (Hybrid, two days at home and three days on‑site)

Location: Thorncliffe Park, Sheffield, S35 2PW – located just off Junction 35A of the M1. We offer free car parking.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage occupational health programmes, including health surveillance, vaccinations and referrals, and support the review and continuous improvement of OH policies.
  • Act as a key liaison between employees, managers, HR, Health & Safety and external OH providers, while supporting case management processes including sickness absence, fitness for work and return‑to‑work planning.
  • Maintain accurate, GDPR‑compliant OH records with timely documentation and follow‑ups, while analysing OH data to identify trends in absence and health outcomes to support decision making.
  • Coordinate workplace vaccination programmes (e.g. Hep B, flu), ensuring schedules are completed and tracked.

What you need to succeed:

  • Experience in occupational health & safety or a related field.
  • Experience coordinating health surveillance, referrals or case management activities, with strong organisational skills to manage multiple priorities and stakeholder communication.
  • Understanding of statutory occupational health requirements, including COSHH, RIDDOR and risk‑based health surveillance.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and data protection (GDPR and medical confidentiality).
  • A proactive and collaborative approach, with a strong sense of accountability.
