Your Role
We are recruiting an Engineering Team Leader to join our B. Braun Sterilog site in Leeds. You will provide technical and people leadership to the Engineering Team, ensuring that engineering services, maintenance activities, and critical plant systems are delivered safely, compliantly, and to the highest standards. As a people manager, you’ll lead by example—playing a crucial role in creating a positive and productive work environment.
Working hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday (including participation in an on‑call rota)
Location: B. Braun Sterilog, Richardshaw Road, Pudsey, LS28 6QW
Your Main Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, and develop a multi‑skilled Engineering Team, providing day‑to‑day technical and people leadership
- Ensure the effective maintenance, testing, inspection, and repair of all engineering plant, equipment, and facilities, including critical decontamination systems
- Plan, organise, and coordinate planned maintenance, shutdowns, and service interruptions to minimise operational risk
- Provide technical expertise, fault diagnosis, and problem‑solving support across complex mechanical and electrical systems
- Supervise engineering works in critical environments, allocating resources and managing contractors as required
- Use the Works Management System to manage PPM, reactive maintenance, plant histories, and engineering records
- Provide out‑of‑hours emergency engineering support as part of a rotating on‑call rota
- Work collaboratively with the Group Engineering Manager and site stakeholders, including supporting activity across other B. Braun sites when required
What You Need To Succeed
- Proven experience working in a regulated or critical engineering environment, such as healthcare, pharmaceuticals, or decontamination
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience organising workloads and coordinating the work of others
- Broad technical knowledge across mechanical, electrical, and building services systems. (Knowledge of bias desirable)
- A proactive, solutions‑focused approach with the ability to work autonomously and under pressure
- IT literacy, including experience using maintenance or works management systems
