Role OverviewAs Junior Legal Counsel, you will be responsible for providing legal advice and dealing with compliance matters for B. Braun in the UK. Based in Sheffield (UK) or St Cloud (France), this role will provide strategic legal guidance to senior management, ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and support business operations across multiple jurisdictions. The position requires a strong international outlook, leadership skills, and the ability to balance risk management with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Provide strategic legal leadership and advice on risks and opportunities across Western Europe with a focus on the UK.
Actively support strategic business projects and initiatives, providing legal guidance on innovation, restructuring, and new market entry.
Ensure compliance with UK and EU laws and oversee corporate governance, prepare and maintain board/shareholder resolutions, meeting minutes, and statutory filings.
Negotiate, draft, and review complex commercial contracts (distribution, supply, partnership, tenders with NHS).
Advise on crossâborder transactions and international business arrangements.
Deliver highâquality, practical legal advice to business teams and management, including on M&A and strategic collaborations.
Lead digitalisation of legal processes (contract lifecycle management, eâsignature, workflow automation, AI tools).
Manage litigation, arbitration, and regulatory investigations with external counsel, and develop strategies to minimise legal exposure.
Manage relationships with external legal counsels and oversee the legal department budget.
Submit monthly reports to the Head of Legal Western Europe.
Develop, implement, and maintain effective compliance programmes, policies, and procedures.
Conduct regular assessments to identify areas of nonâcompliance and collaborate on strategies for improvement.
Provide guidance and training to employees regarding compliance obligations and best practices.
Monitor changes in relevant laws and regulations and ensure local compliance.
Collaborate with relevant departments to address compliance concerns and implement corrective actions.
Qualifications & Experience
Law degree and admission to practice in the UK (additional EU qualifications are an advantage), qualified solicitor or barrister.
Minimum 3 years of postâqualification experience, ideally in healthcare, pharmaceuticals, or medical devices.
Strong knowledge of UK and EU regulatory frameworks.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
Fluency in English; additional European languages are a plus.
