Job Description
Dave’s Hot Chicken started as a late-night parking lot pop-up—three friends, $900 and a portable fryer slinging hot chicken in East Hollywood. Fast forward and it’s a global sensation with a cult following—including icons like Drake and Usher. Known for its mind-blowing flavour and addictive heat, Dave’s is bringing the vibe to the UK—and they’re looking for bold, hype-driven people to join the team.
We’re not your typical quick-service restaurant. We're part of a bigger group of brands within the Azzurri Group and we are a premium, fast-growing brand with big ambitions — we opened our 1st UK site at Shaftesbury Avenue in 2024, with a further 6 sites since then and plans for 8 more in the next 6 months…and we’re just getting started.
To fuel this growth, we need a dynamic, hands-on, commercial People Advisor who’s ready to roll up their sleeves, solve problems on the fly, and help build an outstanding employee experience from the ground up. This is a standalone role so you’ll be involved in all aspects of the employee lifecycle. Reporting into the Operations Lead, you'll be comfortable building trust on the ground and balancing pace with good judgement.
What you’ll be doing
- Building and owning the bread and butter of HR: onboarding, payroll prep, benefits, ER casework, and systems.
- Being a go-to partner for managers—offering confident, practical advice that builds their capability on any people related issues e.g. disciplinary, grievances, sickness and absence.
- Supporting with recruitment for all our new restaurant teams—finding great people fast.
- Own the accuracy of our HR System (Nory) and looking at ways we can optimise the system.
- Ensuring legal and regulatory compliance across all people processes, including contracts, Right to Work, data protection and ER best practice.
- Using people data and insight to spot trends, flag risks and support better decision-making as we scale.
- Helping embed our culture and values into how we hire, onboard, reward and manage our people — especially as we grow.
- Championing our internal comms and employee engagement—ensuring our team feel informed, included, and proud to work here.
What you’ll bring:
- Solid experience in a generalist People Advisor role (multisite hospitality or retail a plus).
- Confident with employee relations and employment law.
- Calm under pressure and ability to be flexible and agile
- Comfortable working independently and making smart commercial decisions.
- Naturally curious, solutions-focused, and always asking “what can we do better?”
What We Offer
- Competitive salary + performance bonus
- Hybrid working (London)
- Perks: free on-shift meals + brand discounts (aka more chicken in your life)
This is a brilliant opportunity to join a brand in scale-up mode where your ideas will shape how we work. If you thrive in fast-paced environments, and want to be part of our journey, we’d love to hear from you.
