Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Head Veterinary Nurse to lead our veterinary team, overseeing daily clinical operations and supporting veterinary practitioners.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the nursing team to ensure efficient services.
- Assist with consultations, surgeries, and diagnostics.
- Manage laboratory tasks and maintain accurate medical records.
- Oversee patient care, medication administration, and treatments.
- Ensure equipment maintenance, hygiene, and safety standards.
- Train and mentor junior staff members.
- Communicate with pet owners regarding treatments and aftercare.
- Uphold high standards of animal welfare and safety.
Requirements
Requirements include proven veterinary experience, leadership skills, organisational ability, and knowledge of current practices. The role offers a salary of £35,000-£40,000, with benefits such as pension, discounts, wellness programmes, and more. Applicants must be RCVS registered, hold a higher education diploma, and have at least 4 years of veterinary experience in the UK.
