The Tax Manager will oversee the Company’s tax strategy and compliance, ensuring adherence to UK tax regulations while optimizing tax efficiency and licence conditions. This role involves managing tax planning, reporting, and compliance processes. Close coordination with the relevant Branch’s Tax Manager is required, although no hierarchical or functional reporting line exists.
Key responsibilities
- Tax Compliance and Reporting
- Manage the flow and collation of information necessary to ensure that Company meets statutory fiscal obligations.
- Manage and oversee the preparation and submission of corporation tax returns, VAT returns, and other relevant tax filings for all the relevant companies.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations.
- Coordinate with external tax advisors and auditors during reporting periods.
- Coordinate and interface with the tax reporting team.
- Grant compliance to licence requirements.
- Tax Planning and Strategy
- Develop and implement tax‑efficient strategies aligned with business operations and strategic goals.
- Identify opportunities for tax savings and optimization of the tax charge on the financing and investment structure.
- Advise on the tax implications of potential mergers, acquisitions, or restructuring for Azule Group.
- Provide strategic tax advice, such as informing senior management of tax planning opportunities where they arise.
- Advisory and Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to provide tax advice on contracts, investments, and business initiatives granting compliance with internal procedure and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain good relationships and act as the primary point of contact for tax‑related inquiries and liaise with HMRC and other Regulator and Tax authorities as necessary.
- Maintain updated knowledge of relevant tax legislation and industry‑specific tax issues.
- Identify and mitigate tax risks, ensuring accurate and transparent tax reporting.
- Implement internal controls to support compliance with tax policies.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the business.
- Assist the finance team with tax provisioning, deferred tax calculations, statutory accounts preparation and any other tax related matter.
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes related to tax liabilities.
- Leadership and Development
- Promote a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment of tax activities with overall business objectives.
- Manage the development and maintenance of Finance procedures for areas of responsibility.
- Provide support to other teams within the department as required.

Requirements
- Relevant experience in tax management, ideally within the energy, oil and gas industries.
- Demonstrated experience in UK corporate tax compliance and planning.
- Experience with VAT and international tax issues.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex tax regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software and tax reporting tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
- Deadline orientated with the ability to work in a structured and methodical manner.
- Good communication skills, written and verbal.
- Able to work under pressure.
- Valid and unrestricted Right to Work in the UK.
Qualification and Experience
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified or equivalent tax qualification (CTA preferred).
