The appointed Senior Planner will take on a key position within a growing planning team, supporting projects from initial concept through to completion. The role involves managing an independent caseload while also contributing to larger, multi-disciplinary schemes in partnership with architects and urban designers. The position offers regular interaction with clients, local authorities and consultants, alongside opportunities to develop leadership and commercial skills within a supportive, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities- Preparing, submitting and managing planning applications, appeals and associated consents
- Conducting planning research, policy reviews and providing clear, professional advice
- Drafting planning statements, appraisals, appeal documentation and community engagement materials
- Coordinating multi-disciplinary project teams and liaising with local authorities and statutory bodies
- Supporting public consultation and stakeholder engagement activities
- Assisting with client relationship management, business development and marketing initiatives
- Contributing to team development and sharing knowledge with colleagues
- Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant planning discipline
- MRTPI qualification (or eligibility for full membership)
- Minimum of five years’ professional experience in town planning
- Excellent analytical and report-writing abilities with strong attention to detail
- Experience working on significant and / or complex development projects
- A proactive, adaptable and collaborative approach
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
