My client, a bespoke MEP and Sustainability Consultancy based in Preston, is searching for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their friendly team in Manchester (or Preston). This is a hybrid role, offering varied projects spanning healthcare, defence, education and Local Authority projects. This opportunity is available with a market leading Consultancy who specialise in sustainable builds and building compliance.

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be expected to complete detailed electrical, lighting and cabling designs using DIAlux and Relux for healthcare, defence, residential, education and commercial development projects for both public and private sector clients. You will be supported by an experienced team and have the chance to work on major schemes spanning healthcare, defence, residential, heritage, education and commercial development projects across the region.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Completing detailed electrical designs using AutoCAD, Dialux and Amtech.
  • Design calculations for commercial projects.
  • Detailed designs of electrical systems and cabling for buildings (commercial, residential and industrial).
  • Survey, tests and reports on existing installations.
  • Attending technical meetings with professionals and contractors.
  • Engineering calculations using Amtech, Dialux, Pro-Design or equivalent software.
  • Preparing tender specifications and drawings for projects.
  • Training and supporting others when needed.

This role offers a competitive salary, private healthcare and career progression. You are required to have a HNC/HND/BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering and have experience working for UK based Consultancy completing detailed electrical designs for residential buildings and commercial developments using Dialux or Amtech or an equivalent software. You are also required to have a detailed knowledge of BS7671 (wiring regulations) and other relevant codes.
