A well-established and growing Civil & Structural Engineering consultancy in Southampton is looking to appoint an experienced Civil Engineer to join their expanding infrastructure team. This is a strong opportunity to join a respected design practice delivering residential and commercial development projects across the South Coast and wider UK.

The Role

Reporting to a Director, you will take responsibility for the detailed design of private and adoptable infrastructure schemes, with a particular focus on highways and drainage.

Key responsibilities:

  • Detailed design of private and adoptable drainage schemes
  • Preparation of S278, S38 and S104 agreements
  • Highway and infrastructure design for residential and commercial developments
  • Production of engineering drawings and supporting technical documentation
  • Liaison with clients, local authorities and internal design teams
  • Supporting projects from concept stage through to technical approval

You will benefit from direct exposure to senior leadership, ongoing technical development and external training where required, alongside clear progression opportunities.

Requirements

  • Degree qualified in Civil Engineering (BEng or MEng)
  • 2+ years’ experience in highway and drainage design
  • Experience producing engineering and technical drawings
  • Proficient in AutoCAD
  • Experience with PDS or Civil 3D
  • Knowledge of MicroDrainage or InfoDrainage
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
