Candidates are required to be ambitious engineers who have a passion for electrical design for building services for a variety of sectors. Candidates are expected to have the following academic background:
- BSc and/or MSc in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering and/or a HNC/HND Building Services Engineering (Electrical) or Electrical & Electronic Engineering.
- Experience working for a UK based Consultancy completing electrical designs, cabling and lighting designs for residential, commercial, retail, healthcare and industrial projects using Relux and Dialux or Amtech.
It is beneficial for applicants to reside in Reading and have experience completing mixed use development projects in a fast paced environment. You will also be expected to have the confidence to complete site visits to discuss designs and project progress with contractors and clients.
Candidates will be required to reside locally to work on a hybrid basis. You may be expected to work from the office for the first six months of employment.
Excellent communication skills will also be required to liaise with contractors and clients on site.
As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will join a supportive team based in Reading to complete electrical cabling, lighting and fire detection designs for residential, retail, commercial, healthcare, industrial and mixed-use developments using Revit, Amtech, Dialux, Relux and AutoCAD.
You will also be required to attend site visits to discuss designs and project progress with clients across the region. You will coordinate between internal and external design teams, clients, architects and contractors to discuss sustainable design concepts.
The office in Reading has a vibrant atmosphere and an experienced team ensuring training and career progression. You will be expected to work in a fast-paced engineering environment to complete complex electrical designs for mixed use developments across the UK.
