Principal Transport Planner Location: Leicester or Nottingham £50,000 – £55,000 This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Principal Transport Planner to join our client’s Transport Planning and Engineering team. This is an excellent role for a motivated professional looking to take a leading position within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment. The Role The successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation of transport statements, transport assessments, and travel plans to support planning applications for private sector clients. What you will be doing: Providing professional advice on highways and transport-related planning matters, including access strategies and feasibility studies, in line with current policy and guidance. Preparing preliminary highway and junction designs for access and improvement schemes for highway authority approval. Delivering high-quality work within agreed timescales and technical standards. Supporting and mentoring junior team members. Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, design teams, and highway authorities. Managing multiple projects as the lead client contact, including financial and client liaison responsibilities.The ideal candidate: You will have solid experience in Transport Planning, with a proven ability to manage and deliver projects effectively. Proficiency in TRICS and Junctions software is essential, and experience with LinSig, GIS, AutoCAD, AutoTrack, PDS Sign/Line, or similar tools will be advantageous. Qualifications Degree in a relevant discipline such as Transport, Civil Engineering, Geography, or Planning.
