Principal Air Quality Consultant Location: Brighton, UK Salary: £50,000 – £65,000 A leading international consultancy is seeking a Principal Air Quality Consultant to assist in leading their UK Air Quality team, based in Brighton. This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned professional to take a pivotal leadership role in a forward-thinking, values-driven organisation. This role will involve working collaboratively across environmental and climatic disciplines to deliver innovative, high-quality outcomes on ambitious projects. Key responsibilities include: Leading and coordinating technical aspects of UK-based air quality projects Supervising data collection, modelling, analysis, interpretation, and reporting Acting as a technical liaison between project teams, clients, and regulators Preparing Environmental Statement (ES) chapters, technical reports, and proposals Providing technical leadership to enhance capability and quality standards Supporting business development initiatives and contributing to global strategy Coaching and reviewing team members to ensure strong performanceEssential requirements: Degree in a relevant science or engineering discipline In-depth understanding of UK air quality regulations, planning frameworks, and guidance Expertise in dispersion modelling (e.g., ADMS-Roads, ADMS 6.0) Strong GIS skills (QGIS) and experience with analytical tools, ERP systems, and MS Office Professional memberships (e.g., IES, IAQM) with evidence of working at the highest professional level Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skillsDesirable experience: Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field such as Environmental Science Knowledge of other dispersion modelling systems (AERMOD, CALPUFF, etc.) Basic programming skills (Visual Basic, C++, Python, Linux)The package: Salary: £50,000 – £65,000 (depending on experience) Comprehensive health and wellbeing benefits Reimbursement of professional membershipsThis is a fantastic opportunity for an established Principal Air Quality Consultant to join a specialist team within a globally recognised consultancy.
