A well-established UK consultancy operating across the built environment is looking to appoint a Principal Acoustic Consultant to support a growing project pipeline, focussing on building acoustics projects. This role would suit someone looking to take the next step in their career, with greater ownership of projects while continuing to develop technically within a collaborative team.

The Role

You’ll be working across a varied portfolio including residential, education, healthcare and commercial developments, industrial & more. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing acoustic projects from initial brief through to completion
  • Undertaking acoustic design work
  • Carrying out noise surveys and site-based testing when required
  • Producing technical reports and supporting junior team members
  • Liaising directly with clients, architects and design teams

About You

  • Degree (or equivalent) in Acoustics or a related STEM subject (with Acoustics specialism)
  • Membership of the Institute of Acoustics (or working towards)
  • Experience in building acoustics
  • Familiar with standards such as BB93 and planning-related noise assessments
  • Strong report writing and client communication skills
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable

  • Experience with sound insulation testing
  • Familiarity with ODEON or similar modelling software
  • Exposure to BREEAM assessments (Hea 05 / Pol 05)
