The Opportunity
We are currently working in partnership with a well-established structural engineering consultancy based in Nottingham, who are looking to appoint a Senior Structural Engineer to support their continued growth across a predominantly residential project portfolio.
This role would suit an experienced engineer who enjoys taking ownership of projects, leading design delivery, and acting as a key technical point of contact for clients and project teams.
The Role
- Lead the structural design and delivery of residential projects, including new builds, extensions, and refurbishments
- Manage projects from concept through to construction
- Prepare and review structural calculations, reports, and design information
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians
- Liaise directly with clients, architects, contractors, and local authorities
- Attend design meetings and site visits as required
- Ensure designs comply with current UK standards, building regulations, and best practice
- Contribute to the continued development of internal processes and technical standards
About You
- Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent)
- Significant experience working on UK residential structural projects
- Strong technical knowledge of UK design codes and building regulations
- Comfortable managing multiple projects and client relationships
- Experience mentoring or managing junior staff
- Proficient in relevant structural analysis and design software
- Chartered or near-Chartered status (MIStructE or MICE) preferred
