A leading construction-led engineering consultancy is seeking a skilled Temporary Works Engineer to join its growing London team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious engineer with at least 4 years’ experience in temporary works design who is looking to work on technically challenging projects across the UK’s built environment and infrastructure sectors.
Working as part of a highly respected engineering team, you will contribute to the delivery of innovative and buildable temporary works solutions on complex construction projects including basements, demolition, structural alterations, high-rise developments, and major infrastructure schemes.
Key Responsibilities- Design and deliver temporary works solutions from concept through to detailed design
- Prepare calculations, drawings, reports, and technical specifications
- Liaise closely with contractors, clients, and project teams
- Attend site visits and provide engineering support during construction
- Deliver practical and buildable solutions aligned with construction sequencing and site constraints
- Contribute to design reviews, risk assessments, and value engineering exercises
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in temporary works or construction engineering
- Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Strong understanding of BS 5975 and temporary works procedures
- Experience working on complex construction or infrastructure projects
- Proficient with structural analysis software and engineering design tools
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Progressing toward Chartership (ICE or IStructE) would be advantageous
