An established multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is currently looking to appoint either a Fire Engineer or Senior Fire Engineer to join their growing Fire Engineering team across one of several UK offices, including Glasgow, Bristol, Manchester or London.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly respected consultancy known for delivering complex, design-led projects across the UK and internationally. The business has built a strong reputation within the built environment sector and works across a wide range of high-profile developments including commercial, residential, aviation, healthcare, transport, stadia and major mixed-use schemes.

The Fire Engineering team is involved in both multidisciplinary collaboration and standalone specialist commissions, giving engineers exposure to a genuinely diverse workload. Current and previous projects include large-scale airport terminals, high-rise residential developments, major regeneration schemes, healthcare facilities and international infrastructure projects.

The consultancy has made significant investment into research, innovation and technical excellence, with dedicated internal groups focused on areas such as CFD modelling, structural fire engineering, emerging fire risks and sustainable construction methods. The team has also been heavily involved in large-scale fire testing and advanced timber construction research projects.

The role will involve:

  • Delivering fire safety strategies and engineering solutions across a broad range of projects
  • Working closely with architects, developers, contractors and wider design teams
  • Attending client, design and site meetings
  • Carrying out and supporting fire engineering analysis using industry-standard modelling software
  • Supporting multidisciplinary project delivery from concept through to completion

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience working within a Fire Engineering consultancy environment
  • A degree in Fire Engineering or a related discipline such as Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Building Services, Architecture or similar
  • Knowledge of UK fire regulations and guidance
  • Experience or exposure to fire modelling / evacuation modelling software
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment
