My Client, an innovative MEP design Consultancy, is searching for a Principal Electrical Design Engineer to join and support their team in Leicester.
This innovative consultancy specialise in sustainability, mechanical, electrical and building services designs for varied commercial, retail, residential and industrial development projects.
You will be required to work from the office on a hybrid basis to check technical work, manage projects and mentor electrical team members.
As a Principal Electrical Design Engineer, you’ll play a key role in mentoring team members, managing projects and delivering diverse projects, from concept through to completion.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering high-quality electrical designs across a wide range of commercial, industrial, heritage, retail, mixed-use development, hospitality and residential sectors.
- Engaging in all stages of the project lifecycle and liaising with multidisciplinary teams in the office and on site.
- Producing technical drawings and calculations for electrical systems and lighting using Dialux, Relux, Amtech and AutoCAD.
- Contributing to sustainable design solutions and low-carbon strategies.
- Supporting site installations and ensuring design compliance, avoiding design clashes.
- Representing the company at project meetings and client interactions suggesting innovative and sustainable solutions for developments. Sites are usually based across the local area.
- Mentoring and managing team members, ensuring technical designs are completed to the highest quality.
As a Principal Electrical Engineer, you will have a strong academic background in Electrical or Building Services Engineering and have achieved or be close to achieving Chartered status. Applicants are required to have experience working for UK based Consultancy completing electrical designs for building services across a variety of sectors using Dialux, Relux and/or Amtech.
You will also be required to have experience mentoring team members and checking technical designs. Experience designing for both commercial and residential projects would also be beneficial.
You will also be required to have a working knowledge of British/European standards and Building Regulations and BREEAM.
Whilst this opportunity offers flexible working, you will be required to work from the office in Leicester a few days a week to provide training and support for staff. You will also be required to have a valid driving licence to attend site visits across the area.
