Aztrum are pleased to be partnering with a growing consultancy based in Leicester that is looking to appoint an experienced CDM Principal Designer. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive health and safety professional with a strong understanding of CDM 2015 Regulations to join a collaborative team working across a diverse range of construction projects.
Key Responsibilities for this CDM Principal Designer role:
- Act as the Principal Designer in accordance with CDM 2015 Regulations
- Plan, manage, monitor, and coordinate health and safety throughout the pre-construction phase
- Identify, eliminate, or reduce foreseeable design risks through effective risk management
- Coordinate with clients, designers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure statutory compliance
- Prepare Pre-Construction Information (PCI)
- Ensure designers fulfil their duties under CDM 2015
- Lead design risk review meetings and workshops
- Liaise with Principal Contractors to support effective risk management throughout projects
- Prepare, review, and hand over the Health & Safety File upon project completion
- Advise clients on their responsibilities under CDM Regulations
- Keep up to date with health and safety legislation and industry best practice
- Support the business with accreditation processes where required
Key Requirements for this CDM Principal Designer role:
- Minimum of 7 years' experience within a CDM, Health & Safety, or Design role in the construction industry
- Strong working knowledge of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate (or equivalent Health & Safety qualification)
- Professional membership with IOSH, APS, or similar is desirable
- Experience working on Commercial, Residential, Education, Infrastructure, or similar projects
- Strong understanding of construction design processes and risk mitigation principles
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
