Our client is currently recruiting for an experienced Site Engineer specialising in maritime structures and civil engineering works. This opportunity will involve working on a major dockside project in Kent within a fast-paced and technically demanding environment. We are looking for a motivated engineer with previous experience in civil engineering, infrastructure, or marine projects who is confident managing site engineering duties and supporting project delivery on site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Setting out and surveying works on site
  • Ensuring works are carried out in accordance with drawings, specifications, and programme requirements
  • Carrying out quality inspections and maintaining accurate site records
  • Liaising with site management, subcontractors, and project teams
  • Supporting health & safety compliance across the project
  • Assisting with technical problem solving and reporting
  • Coordinating daily engineering activities to support efficient project delivery

Requirements

  • Previous experience working as a Site Engineer within civil engineering, infrastructure, or marine environments
  • Competent using setting out and surveying equipment
  • Strong understanding of construction and site operations
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a wider project team
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • CSCS card and relevant engineering qualifications preferred

Working Hours

Standard working hours are 08:00 to 18:00, Monday to Saturday (60 hours per week), inclusive of a one-hour unpaid lunch break each day. Due to the nature of the project, the role requires working six days per week in line with the project programme. Depending on project requirements, there may be a need to work additional hours, including evenings, nights, and weekends. Night shifts may also be required and are operated on a rotating roster, typically on a 12-days-on, 2-days-off pattern, which may include weekend work as part of the rotation.
