An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and commercially minded Associate Director of Structural Engineering to join and help grow the Cambridge office. The Role
This position would suit a proactive and technically strong Chartered Structural Engineer who enjoys combining project delivery with business growth and team leadership responsibilities. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading structural engineering projects from concept through to completion
- Managing and mentoring engineers and technicians within the team
- Developing new client relationships and identifying opportunities for business growth
- Preparing fee proposals and supporting tender submissions
- Acting as a key client contact and representing the business at meetings and networking events
- Reviewing and approving structural calculations, drawings, and technical documentation
- Ensuring compliance with relevant standards, regulations, and quality procedures
- Collaborating with architects, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams across a range of sectors
Candidate Requirements
- Degree qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Chartered status with ICE or IStructE
- Significant consultancy experience within structural engineering
- Proven experience delivering building and infrastructure projects
- Strong commercial awareness and client-facing experience
- Experience leading teams and managing project delivery
- Proficiency in structural design software such as Tekla and Tedds
- Strong understanding of Eurocodes, British Standards, and UK Building Regulations
