My Client, a market leading Building Services and Sustainability Consultancy, is searching for an Electrical Design Engineer to join their team in South Manchester. This innovative consultancy specialises in electrical and building services designs for varied commercial, retail, residential, industrial and MOD projects, with a focus on sustainability and energy efficiency. This is an office based role in South Manchester and you will be supported by the experienced team.

This role would suit a confident and keen Engineer who has an interest in electrical design across numerous sectors. You will join an experienced team and be trained to complete complex electrical designs for residential, commercial, retail and defence projects. You will have the opportunity to work on site and liaise with clients and wider design team members. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic engineer who is keen to progress their career.

As an Electrical Design Engineer, you’ll play a key role in bringing diverse projects to life, from concept through to completion. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering high-quality electrical designs for buildings across a wide range of sectors.
  • Lighting and cabling designs using Dialux and Revit.
  • Engaging in all stages of the project lifecycle and liaising with multidisciplinary teams in the office and on-site.
  • Monitoring site progression, liaising with design and commissioning teams, supporting site installations and ensuring design compliance.
  • Producing technical drawings and calculations for electrical systems and lighting (2D and 3D) using Dialux, Relux, Amtech and Revit.
  • Contributing to sustainable design solutions and low-carbon strategies.
  • Training courses and development.

As an Electrical Design Engineer you will be expected to have a strong academic background in Electrical Engineering and have experience working for UK based Consultancy completing electrical designs for buildings using Dialux, Relux and/or Revit. You will also be required to have a working knowledge of British/European standards and Building Regulations and BREEAM and ideally have experience designing for a mix of projects.

Whilst this opportunity offers flexibility when needed, you will be required to work from the office in South Manchester. You will also be required to have a valid driving licence to attend site visits across the region.
