A multidisciplinary sustainability consultancy is looking to appoint an Energy Modelling Specialist to support its growing pipeline of commercial refurbishment and fit-out projects. This role is ideal for someone with strong hands-on experience in IES VE who can confidently deliver real project outputs and contribute to high-quality building performance and compliance work.
The role:
- Deliver dynamic simulation modelling (DSM) using IES VE (ApacheSim)
- Carry out TM52 overheating and TM54 operational energy assessments
- Produce non-domestic EPCs and BRUKL reports
- Support Part L compliance and passive design analysis
- Contribute to BREEAM energy credits (ENE 01, ENE 04, HEA01)
- Assist with low and zero carbon feasibility studies
- Interpret results and produce clear, client-facing reports
- Collaborate with architects, MEP engineers, and contractors
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines independently
What they’re looking for:
- Strong experience using IES VE in a consultancy environment
- Proven delivery of TM52, TM54, and EPC outputs
- Solid understanding of UK Building Regulations (Part L) and DSM principles
- Experience supporting BREEAM energy credits
- Ability to produce high-quality technical reports independently
- Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Relevant degree (2:1 or above preferred)
Desirable:
- Experience with NABERS UK
- Exposure to commercial fit-out (CAT A / CAT B) projects
- Familiarity with Part O assessments
Open to strong mid-level candidates or more experienced professionals capable of leading modelling workstreams.
