A well-established sustainability consultancy is looking to appoint a Principal Energy Modeller to join its growing team. This opportunity is suited to an experienced professional with strong technical expertise in building performance modelling and a proven background managing people, projects, and client relationships. The business operates across a wide range of sectors, delivering energy and sustainability strategies on complex developments throughout the UK.
The Role
The successful candidate will take a leading role in delivering energy modelling and building performance work while supporting the management and development of the wider team. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading dynamic simulation modelling and building performance analysis across multiple projects
- Delivering operational energy modelling, overheating assessments, and Part L compliance work
- Managing and mentoring junior team members and supporting technical development
- Reviewing technical outputs and maintaining quality standards across projects
- Supporting project delivery from concept through to completion
- Working closely with architects, MEP engineers, and external stakeholders
- Leading client meetings and presenting technical findings clearly
- Supporting business growth and contributing to team strategy
The Ideal Candidate
- Strong background in energy modelling within a consultancy environment
- Proven management or team leadership experience
- Advanced experience using IES VE and dynamic simulation modelling tools
- Strong knowledge of TM52, TM54, Part L, and building performance analysis
- Ability to manage projects, clients, and technical delivery simultaneously
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Degree qualified in a relevant discipline
